How to start on OnlyFans from home with no followers and no experience

You can start from home with a phone, a private space and zero followers. What you can't skip is the truth: this is adult content, the money is not guaranteed, and a page nobody promotes earns close to nothing. Most of the work is getting people to see you, not the camera.

Be honest with yourself first

This is adult content on the internet. Once it's online, someone can copy it, and people you know could find it. No agency, app or setting can promise that won't happen.

Decide your limits before you start and write them down. What you will show, what you won't, and if your face is in it. Limits you set calmly on day one are easier to keep than limits you set with a fan pushing you.

What you need

Less than you think:

  • To be 18 or older, with a valid government ID. OnlyFans verifies every creator
  • A phone with a decent camera. Daylight from a window does more than expensive gear
  • A private space where nobody walks in on you
  • A separate email and phone number just for your creator accounts
  • A creator name that has nothing to do with your real name

Followers come from promotion, not from OnlyFans

OnlyFans has almost no way for new people to discover you. Fans find you on Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and X, then click through to your page. With zero followers, your first months are mostly about building that traffic.

So starting with no audience is normal. It just means the first part of the work is promotion, and it takes time before it shows up in your earnings.

Alone or with a team

Alone, you do everything. You shoot, post, promote, answer every message, set prices and chase leaks. Plenty of creators start that way.

An agency takes the business side off your plate in exchange for a percentage of what your page earns. That only makes sense if they bring in more than they take. Read our guide on agency percentages before you sign anything.

Your first weeks

Keep it simple:

  • Set up your OnlyFans and verify your ID
  • Turn on watermarks and block the countries where people you know live
  • Shoot a first batch of content so you're not starting from zero every day
  • Pick one or two social platforms and post there every day
  • Keep a note of what you post and what gets a reaction
